Alumni Stories

summer2011 016Kyle Mackie should be proud of himself because we surely are here at Right Moves for Youth.  Mr. Mackie strives for success in all his actions.  He recently graduated from East Mecklenburg High School.  During his time at East Mecklenburg High School he was a member of the football and track teams.  Mr. Mackie was recognized as the 2010 Old Spice Player of the Year and as the football teams Player of the Year in 2010.  Mr. Mackie's success extends beyond the field, he also found time to maintain a job and volunteer with Right Moves for Youth, and he received a $2500  scholarship from Elevation Church.  He truly has paved his path to be successful as he moves on in life.  In the fall Mr. Mackie will be attending Saint Augustine College where he will be studying and playing football.

Daniel Zeregaber entered the Right Moves for Youth program his junior year of high school at East Mecklenburg High School.  Zeregaber initially joined the program to get involved in an extracurricular activity.  Upon entering the program Zeregaber became more confident in himself and his networking skills were enhanced.  After graduation from high school he attended Winston-Salem State University where he recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.  He still is involved in the program today as a volunteer and he stops by the office from time to time to say hello.  He states that he is appreciative of everything that Right Moves for Youth has done for him.  He hopes to see Right Moves for Youth expand to other cities one day.  Daniel is a prime example of the great influences that Right Moves for Youth has on young people in Charlotte.
