Spotlight Story on Elijah Edwards

Elijah Edwards is a junior at Garinger High School.  He just completed his first year in Right Moves for Youth.  He is great student as well as being an athlete.

Elijah is interning with Right Moves for Youth this summer through the Mayor's Youth Employment Program.  He shared that he has learned a lot more about the steps it takes to go to college.  He is interested in attending Bethune Cookman University, Wake Forest University or Elon University and is interested in majoring in Engineering.

Elijah has a 3.5 GPA and runs track and plays football.  He went to the state championship for the high jump this spring and finished fifth overall.  He is a running back for the Garinger team. 

He shared that the best thing about being a member of Right Moves for Youth is: "the opportunity to meet new people and do interesting things.  I really enjoyed visiting NC State and Hampton University this year with my Right Moves for Youth Club.  I intend to take the SAT in the fall so I can achieve my goal of not only graduating from high school, but also attending college."
