Research shows that youth thrive when they build positive, long-lasting relationships with peers and mentors. From the very beginning, RMFY has ensured that youth have the support and guidance needed to succeed. There may be other organizations that do similar work, but there are none in Charlotte that provide services like RMFY. Our model is unique, providing school-based, youth services with a group counseling model.

Each week RMFY Program Specialists facilitate adult and peer mentoring for students in a structured group setting using a life skills curriculum. They express care, set standards, model behavior, and foster effective communication among group members. By working with students in a group setting, we promote positive peer influence to empower students to make the right moves, strengthen new skills, and affirm each other’s growth!
