Meet Melvin R. Nicholson. 

Melvin has been a volunteer with us since 2015. If you were to ask him why he volunteers, he would say, “I LOVE volunteering with RMFY because I get to help make a positive change in our students lives.” 

Melvin has an amazing story which he freely shares with the students he serves and that story has helped to shape hundreds of young people over the last 6 years. 

His favorite piece of advice for our students is to Look/Listen/Learn. 

LOOK at everything and your surroundings to see where you are in life.

LISTEN to advice that will keep you moving forward.

LEARN and know that your life is important and you can do anything that you set out to do.

Over the years, Melvin has been asked to join other mentoring organizations but he continues to stick with us because he views it as family. He says RMFY is “a strong group of folks that love to make a difference in the students lives. Now, who wouldn’t want to be a part of an organization like this one?” 

Thank you, Melvin! You have been such a major part of the work that we do day in and day out. Our students are better for the love you pour out for them.
